Spicy Kumquat Cilantro Sour

About This Recipe:

There’s nothing quite like the taste of fresh ingredients straight from the garden, and this Spicy Kumquat Cilantro Sour is the perfect way to showcase the seasonality of your produce. With freshly picked cilantro and kumquats, and a slice of jalapeño for some heat, this cocktail is bursting with flavor and freshness.

To make this garden-to-glass cocktail, start by muddling a handful of freshly picked cilantro leaves with a slice of jalapeño in a cocktail shaker. Add 1 oz of fresh lime juice, 1 oz of kumquat juice, and 2 oz of pisco to the shaker, along with some ice, and shake until well-chilled. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice, and garnish with a slice of fresh kumquat and a sprig of cilantro.

Not only does this Spicy Kumquat Cilantro Sour taste amazing, it’s also a great way to highlight the unique flavors of your garden. So why not take advantage of the seasonality of your produce and try this garden-fresh cocktail today!

To make a non-alcoholic version of the Spicy Kumquat Cilantro Sour cocktail, you can substitute pisco with white grape juice or apple juice, which will add a similar level of sweetness and acidity to the cocktail. For Cointreau, you can replace it with orange juice or orange-flavored syrup, which will add a similar citrusy flavor as well as a touch of sweetness to the cocktail. I would then top with a little bit of plain sparkling water or lime flavored sparkling water.
