Savor the seasonality of your garden with this Spicy Kumquat Cilantro Sour cocktail! Freshly picked cilantro, kumquats, and jalapeño create a perfect blend of sweet and heat. Shake up this delicious drink and highlight your unique garden flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz pisco
  • 1 oz kumquat juice
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 slices of fresh jalapeño
  • Handful of fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Salt
  • Ice
  • Kumquat slice and cilantro sprig for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rim the edge of a glass with salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it in salt.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, muddle 2 slices of fresh jalapeño with 1 oz of fresh lime juice and a handful of cilantro leaves.
  3. Add 2 oz of pisco, 1 oz of kumquat juice, and 1 tablespoon of honey to the shaker.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
  5. Strain the mixture into the salt-rimmed glass filled with ice.
  6. Garnish with a slice of kumquat and a sprig of cilantro.

Notes

To make a non-alcoholic version of the Spicy Kumquat Cilantro Sour cocktail, you could possibly substitute pisco with white grape juice or apple juice, which will add a similar level of sweetness and acidity to the cocktail. For Cointreau, you can replace it with orange juice or orange-flavored syrup, which will add a similar citrusy flavor as well as a touch of sweetness to the cocktail. I would then top with a little bit of plain sparkling water or lime flavored sparkling water.
